Upgrading PERTAPIS Welfare Homes for Safer Living Spaces
The spaces we live in can shape how we feel, learn and grow. For residents across PERTAPIS welfare homes, our homes are more than places to stay. They are spaces where they find stability, build confidence and take steps towards a better future.
A safe, comfortable and conducive environment can make a meaningful difference in their daily lives. It can provide a sense of security, encourage positive routines and create opportunities for residents to learn, connect and grow.
This is why PERTAPIS launched the Upgrade Our Homes, Uplift Lives campaign, an initiative to upgrade our welfare homes in Singapore and create safer, more comfortable and conducive living spaces for the individuals in our care.
Creating Better Spaces for Our Residents
As part of the campaign, PERTAPIS will be enhancing two of our residential homes — the Senior Citizens Fellowship Home (PSCFH) and the Centre for Women and Girls (PCWG).
These efforts may seem simple, but its impact can extend beyond the physical space.
While the residents at each home have different needs and experiences, both homes play an important role in providing a safe, supportive and conducive environment for those in our care.
At PSCFH, our senior residents benefit from spaces that support their comfort, well-being and continued engagement. At PCWG, a safe and nurturing environment provides women and girls with the space and support they need to build confidence, develop life skills and work towards greater independence.
Through the campaign, we aim to create meaningful improvements that go beyond the physical spaces. The upgrades will improve the living environments for 100 women, girls and seniors under our care, creating spaces that better meet their everyday needs.
At the same time, we hope to enhance safety and comfort by creating more conducive spaces where residents can feel safe, comfortable and at ease in their daily lives.
These environments will also support their physical, emotional and personal wellbeing, while providing opportunities for learning, engagement and development.
Ultimately, these spaces form part of the environment in which our residents live, grow and work towards their goals.
When we upgrade our homes, we create opportunities for lives to be uplifted.
Be Part of the Change
The Upgrade Our Homes, Uplift Lives campaign is made possible through the support of our community, donors and corporate partners.
As part of the upgrading efforts, PERTAPIS receives funding support from the government agency, covering 90% of the full cost for eligible replacement items, with damaged or unserviceable items replaced on a one-for-one basis.
While this helps address essential replacements, additional funding is needed for the remaining costs and enhancements beyond the replacement programme.
